| Over the years, Monmouth Vinyl and Mr. LaPietra have won many industry awards and public notices. Among the earliest, RSI magazine saw reason to give us their prestigous "Siding Design Home of the Year" award not once, but twice -and consecutively! A feat that not only astounded them, but apparantly worried them, too... |
|
...after the back-to-back "national championships", they must of asked themselves: 'what shall we do about next year?', because apparently they felt they had better make Mr. LaPietra a judge, rather than a dynasty:

Note in the above letter the mention of the "National Association of the Remodeling Industry" and their national convention. This organization, made up primarily of contractors, covers the gamut of the remodeling industry, as its name implies. They conduct an awards program each year in several categories; the judges are our esteemed peers in the industry, and needless to say, winning one is the ultimate reference. While you can always find customers ready to praise the work done for them, the unfortunate truth is they have little or nothing to compare the experience with. Yet, everyone naturally likes to think their "good" job is the "best" job. And while it is important to get references, the homeowner reference is really speaking of a contractors ability to conduct himself in a business like way, and can hardly be expected to be an expert in judging the level of craftsmanship... |
| Not so with a NARI Contractor of the Year Award. This is judgment, indeed reference, of a different order. Our entry in "Residential Specialty", revealing our skills at vinyl siding and roofing along with some carpentry, was deemed best in the 13 state Northeast region, a finalist nationally at their 1994 national convention. Now that's a feather in the ol' cap! |
The most revered award in the vinyl siding industry, The Award of Distinction from the Vinyl Siding Institute, has long been sought by contractors who care to put their work "up to the light". The VSI keeps their award process very selective, therefore very prestigious. For example, in 2001, there were 150 entries into the competition, and the VSI gave out just 27 awards. You can be sure all 150 entries were jobs worthy of note, because just entering into this competition is arduous and time consuming at the very least.
That was the year we won our fifth Award of Distinction, dating back to 1986.
